The Epic Battle opens THIS FRIDAY from 7-11 pm at Delurk Gallery. Please stop by if you are in the area, there will be food and drink, cool people and lots of wonderful, fanciful art. Anna Trope is the other featured artist this month and she will be knit-bombing Delurk as a part of her show. It promises to be an amazing evening.
I wanted to post more about the battle in progress, but as it is still really, really — you know — in progress, I am going to have to share more of that next week. But, check out this sneak peek of the activity book that Patrick Harris and I put together as a companion for the installation piece. The book tells a playful narrative/origin story for both of the characters in the sculpture piece. Patrick tells the story of Ropoctopus and I tell the story of The Raggedy Octopus and the meet in the middle for The Epic Battle, of course. It turned out really well. Our hope is that it will encourage folks to engage with the art, plus it makes a great take-home continuation of the exhibit.
